Basic Food Safety

Students learn Basic Food Safety Principles through our 6-Part ANSI National Accreditation Board-Accredited online training program. Upon successful completion, students have the opportunity to earn a 3 year food safety certificate that can give them a kickstart to their food service career.

Purpose: The purpose of our food handlers card training is to ensure students learn how to handle food safely and comply with any state or local requirements.

Scope: This program teaches or reinforces responsible food handling principles for students and helps teachers build practical workplace skills and real-world readiness into their lessons.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this course, you will be able to:
  • Recognize how food can cause illness or allergic reactions.
  • Prevent contamination of food and food-contact surfaces with the hands and body.
  • Identify which symptoms or illnesses must be reported to a manager.
  • Use time and temperature control throughout the flow of food.
  • Maintain a clean environment for food preparation and service.

Advanced Food Manager Certification

Our Food Manager Certification program teaches students management-level food safety skills to prepare them for the restaurant industry. Upon successful completion, students earn a 5-year ANSI National Accreditation Board-Accredited Food Manager Certification that is widely accepted throughout the US.

Purpose: The purpose of our Food Manager training and certification is to ensure students gain the advanced knowledge and skills needed to manage food safety in a supervisory role—and to comply with national food safety standards.

Scope: This comprehensive program prepares students to take the nationally accredited Food Protection Manager Certification Exam. It reinforces critical food safety principles, helps educators embed leadership and responsibility into their lessons, and supports career readiness in culinary and hospitality pathways.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this course, you will be able to:
  • Identify food safety risks and implement effective policies
  • Train staff to follow food safety procedures
  • Take appropriate action when employees show symptoms of illness
  • Follow personal hygiene and handwashing standards
  • Select approved suppliers and inspect deliveries
  • Prevent cross-contamination
  • Use correct cleaning and sanitizing procedures
  • Implement pest prevention strategies
  • Control time and temperature for TCS (Time/Temperature Control for Safety) foods
  • Maintain facilities and equipment according to regulations
